Spring 2025 Update

In 2025 you'll see some changes here on the Forum website, with some previously members-only content migrating here, onto the blog where it will be available for everyone to enjoy.

As some of our previous blog posts made clear, we had originally anticipated making the blog a place for posting regular updates on pragmatism-related developments in the discipline. However, having listened to feedback from our members, this year we will be shifting our attention elsewhere - especially towards building out in-person events and making them available remotely (via both streaming and recordings posted here).

We still all like the idea of featuring local fellow pragmatist (and pragmatism-adjacent) scholars' work here on the blog (e.g. short summaries of recent/forthcoming works, conversation-starters, etc.), but we'd like to proceed with this on a volunteer basis. So, if you have something you'd like to share or know someone else who might, please email us at socalpragmatistforum@gmail.com All three Forum co-founders are busy with unusual projects in the spring of 2025, so while we anticipate another in-person fall workshop, as per usual, in place of our usual online spring workshop we invite members attend one of the following exciting in-person events coming up very soon:

  1. Nikolaj Pedersen, Duncan Pritchard, and Peter Graham on The Epistemology of AI at UC Irvine on Friday, January 24th.

  2. Robert Talisse on Civic Solitude at Cal State Fullerton on Thursday, January 30th.

  3. Philip Kitcher on Ethics, Politics, and the Climate Crisis on Thursday, February 13th.

  4. A range of terrific speakers, including Jennifer Saul, Lynne Tirrell, Jason D'Cruz, and others at the CSUF Symposium on Wednesday April 16th and Thursday April 17th. This year's theme is Deception, Distrust, and the Dark Side of Discourse.

We hope to see you there!
